Regulation ECE104
Reflexite® has a full product range which meets the tough requirements of the new ECE104 specification, including products for both trucks with rigid sides and trucks with tarpaulins. The product range is called "VC104+".

In America, Reflexite® has for many years been the market leader in reflective marking tapes for trucks and trailers.In 1993 the US made it mandatory to have such markings on trucks.

On the European market Reflexite® was the first producers to receive the approval "E" numbers for its retro reflective vehicle contour marking tapes according to R.104.


The registered numbers E4-104R-00-0001 (for rigid sided vehicles) and E4-104R-00-0002 (for curtain sided vehicles) confirm that the Reflexite product range meets the stringent requirements of the R.104 regulations for reflective markings on vehicles in whole Europe.

The approval numbers are stamped into the tapes, making it easy for users to identify that they have a top quality approved product on their truck.

The Reflexite® VC104 tapes have been produced as single layer products, with 100% adhesion on the back. This means that there is no risk of any dirt or moisture penetration between layers; something that could potentially damage the tape.


The thin structure also makes it very easy and quick to apply the tape even around rivets on the truck. In addition, Reflexite also offers an extensive warranty on the products.

What is ECE 104?
Regulation ECE 104 provides guidelines for retro-reflective line or contour safety markings of heavy goods vehicles and their trailers, allowing other motorists extra time to react when approaching an HGV at night or in poor visibility conditions.


Which colours can be used?
The colour of the tapes must comply with local regulations, which in some cases require yellow to the side and red to the rear. In other cases it requires either yellow or white throughout the whole vehicle. 

The Reflexite® VC104+ product range
The VC104+ range consist of both rigid grade and curtain grade products. The products come in 50mm x 50m rolls and in the three colours yellow, red and white. The products are unique in their single layer construction, with no requirement for edge sealing, easy application, and high durability including power washing. The rigid grade comes with a 10 year warranty. The curtain grade comes with a 3 year warranty.
